About

Big Bear PRO Model Fishing Rods are made with the best High Modulus Graphite in order to keep them light weight and extra sensitive. Batson's ALPS recessed ring design line guides have high corrosion resistant stainless steel frames and polished blue zirconium rings. These are among the smoothest casting and toughest guides in the fishing industry. Big Bear Pro Fishing Rods are tough enough for all superlines and saltwater.

What makes the line of Big Bear Fishing Rods so unique is the GRIP. The Big Bear Grip design allows anglers to make longer more accurate casts and solid more powerful hook sets without limiting sensitivity or increasing weight. It also helps to reduce hand fatigue and performs incredibly in wet and cold conditions.

The grips are made from a proprietary synthetic rubber formula using dual ply technology. The inside is hard for maximum sensitivity and durability. The outside is firm and textured for extra rod control and comfort.

Every Big Bear fishing rod features no-fore-grip design and all casting rods have a blank exposed reel seat for maximum sensitivity. All Big Bear rods also have a split handle. The butt grips are cushioned and rounded for hard hook sets; and long enough for comfortable two handed casts.

And finally Big Bear used Large font on the split handle to allow anglers to easily identify the LPA (Length, Power, Action) of a rod. This is especially beneficial while searching for a rod in the rod box.

Retail prices of these rods range from $145 to $250 each depending on model and length.

I've attached pictures of the Pro Model with the blue grip, the standard Big Bear Fishing Rod with the red grip and the font used to indentify the LPA of the rods.

The rod I am reviewing is the Big Bear Pro Model Medium Light rod with a fast tip. This rod is suggested for use with light crankbaits, top water and heavier drop shotting. I have found it to be GREAT for Shakey Head fishing... or more exact, Parasite Stand Up Jig fishing. I have been catching more fish with this combo than any other. I know some of you are thinking yea, this is a good set up for smaller fish... nope. This set up easily landed the 5lb 10oz Large Mouth Bass I caught on High Rock Lake just this past Saturday. (Picture Attached) The rod kept him where I wanted him and allowed me to play him into the boat with ease.

I would suggest Big Bear Fishing Rods to everyone that fishes. The difference in comfort alone is worth changing but the castin accuracy, power, casting ease and more makes Big Bear Fishing Rods the only rod I'll buy from now on. They have spinning and casting to meet my every need and if they don't have what I want available on their website... They also make Custom Rods to your every spec, down to allowing you to pick what color grip you want.

Recommend to Others: Yes
Pros: The grip is unreal. When fishing an 8 hour tournament you may make 2,000 plus casts in a day. The grip makes an unbelieveable difference in how you feel at the end of the day, Total Comfort. Not to mention the benefit of the grip for casting accuracy. I can only say you have to try one if you get a chance. JDaddy here on UB not only liked the 7' MH-F I let him try out... he took it home with him! Oh yea, Yo JDaddy, where's the trade??? LOL j/k
Cons: None.
