About

The Falcon LowRider® XG has earned its status as a perennial favorite among tournament bass fishermen, featuring Fuji blank-thru reel seats, Fuji guides, and our American-made LowRider graphite blanks. The LowRider guide system, a revolutionary development when Falcon introduced it in 1995, is still the state of the art today. Just ask Falcon Pro, Clark Wendlandt, two-time FLW Angler of the Year.

25 tournament-tested American heroes just keep getting better. This collection of 14 casting and 11 spinning rods now features stronger, lighter, low-to-the-blank Fuji guides for longer casts. Fuji ergonomic graphite reel seats and 33 million modulus graphite blanks that extend through the handle add up to the best combination of strength, sensitivity and durability of any rod on the market.

This rod is excellent for throwing mid sized shallow to mid depth divers but it could also function really well as a spinnerbait/buzzbait, trap or topwater rod. The action isn't parabolic and I would call it Moderate-Fast. Compared to the Loomis cranking rods it's smack in the middle of the medium and medium heavy IMO. The blank they use is very small diameter which makes it very light and sensative. It reminds me a lot of a Lamiglas and that's a good thing for me. Overall I wouldn't call it the best cranking rod I've ever used but like with all my rods it can do several things very well and that gives me an advantage when I can take 4 rods and still have a solid rod for many techniques.

I bought this rod for my wife to use as it was one of the lightest and most comfortable rods I've put my hands on. This rod makes a great all purpose rod as my wife throws 1/2oz spinners and Vibrashocks with it while I throw Shakey head (when she's not in the boat) and it does all of the above very well. I mated it with a Shimano Sahara 750 and I can't say I own a lighter combo. I went in ready to spend whatever I had to because I wanted her to have the best rod to suit her needs and in the end this rod was lighter than the Cara, Loomis and Crucial rods I tested and felt much more comfortable with the small Shimano reel.

I bought this rod to toss heavy jigs in and around grass and I think it's perfect for that. It's not as stiff at I expected but I think that's due to the action being a bit slower. This is a newer Cara with the improved trigger and split grip and I have to say Falcon hit their mark with this rod. If you haven't looked at the Falcon Cara lineup in a while I think now is a great time!

This rod was intended for jigging football heads in deep structure but I was looking for a versatile Frog rod when I first picked it up. The tip is soft and fast but after that it's a stick. I've found it absolutely perfect for throwing a Frog into the junk but I've also been fishing jigs with it all winter and it really does a great job at that as well. If you're like me and you fish a frog in the summer, a Carolina in the spring and jigs in the winter but never at the same time this rod will cover all those very easily. I also like the durability of this rod. I can't afford to replace the super light highly sensitive rods when they break (and they do) so I went with something that is built tough.
