My Triton..., Sunday, 08 April 2007 Written by Scottie Franklin
One knock on Aluminum boats is storage...that is not the case with the Mag 186...There are 2 large storage area built into the front deck on either side...one is a rod box and the other is for life vest and other necessary items.... Down the center of the front deck are also 2 other large storage areas... the front one I use for my tackle boxes, worm bags, etc. The one further back has 7 slots to place the 370 size plastic tackle boxes....There are also 2 smaller storage areas built into the back deck that will hold 3 each of the 370 size plastic boxes..... There is also storage under the console seat....and a built in ice chest as a step from the console area to the front deck.. There is only one livewell but very large and has a removable divider...it has auto fill and recirc./pump-out capability... I added hydralic steering, a 6" jackplate, and a 3 bank battery charger... The 150 optimax on my boat pushes it around 65 mph..that's according to the onboard speedo so not sure what true GPS mph is....It is very stable and feels solid on plane and takes rough water very well...I would feel safe in just about any water conditions within reason...I am very surprised and pleased with the fuel economy of this rig setup also. Aluminum boats are just a personal choice of mine and I look and many before deciding on this one...and if I had to replace this one for whatevery reason I'd purchase the exact same boat again...
