We set our standards VERY high. First, we went out and purchased LOTS of expensive rods from famous name manufacturers. We tested our rods side-by-side against the "big boys". Tests for flexibility, feel, strength, power, and performance. I'd be lying to you if I told you our first design was good. It wasn't. We re-worked our design numerous times to get it right. Only when we could match (or outperform) the expensive rods were we ready. I can tell you it hurt a lot doing breakage tests and snapping some of those $100+ rods.

AiRRUS rods made its entry into the tackle industry at the 2002 ICAST show in Las Vegas. It was at ICAST that we initially showcased and introduced a totally new and innovative rod technology to the tackle industry. We entered rods built with this technology in ICAST's "New Products Showcase" in order to obtain feedback from buyers and to see how well this new technology would be accepted. I had no idea, at the time, that this was a rod technology destine to change the rod industry, much as the introduction of graphite did in the 70's.
