This is a Viento in all ways except in Gear ratio.At half the price.

Pros: The new Daiwa Megaforce Baitcasting reels are flying off shelves everywhere. These are 7.1:1 retrieve with the now famous coffee drinkers "Twichin Bar".
What that means to all you coffee drinkers out there, is you can sip your coffee and still reel in your line, or just keep it tight enough to feel a strike.

I bought this reel because it was a steal at $150 NIB but it would be worth every penny of the $229 regular price. It's really small and light and is one of the smoothest reels I've used. It's smaller and lighter than the Citica 100 and much smoother. This the ultimate finesse reel.

I use this reel for weightless plastics. I can fish the whole day with just one hand. It casts great and then I can "twitch" the bait back to the boat all with one hand. It's very smooth for a reel of it's price range.

Outstanding reel for the price. Reel is very smooth is to handle and operate. Cast control feature is vintage Daiwa... once you find a good system don't change it. It has always been great. My 4th Daiwa and counting. No, the others didn't wear out... I retired them.

Pros: The 8 bearings make this an extremely smooth reel. The flip open face plate makes it easy to spool line. Excellent flipping tool.
Cons: Haven't found any yet. Well, except maybe for the color. Red.

I wanted to get me a good baitcaster and read a review in a fishing magazine about the Viento. I was gearing up for a trip to Lake Fork, and headed out to Sportsman Warehouse. The moment I picked up the reel and was feeling it in my hands. I knew this was the one for me. It was easy to get setup and ready to use. It took me about 3 hours to get the spool just right for my casting ways to keep it from backlashing on me. Once this was set, my mission was decided to catch some fish. The fluid casting of this reel makes me smile each time I cast. I feel as if nothing could go wrong casting with or into the wind it is flawless. My enjoyment of using this baitcaster has made the Viento my choice from here on out. I plan to purchase a few more to have in my arsenal. I would suggest anyone looking to get a new baitcaster to give a look at the Viento by Team Daiwa.

Pros: Easy to set up for casting. Nice build and form to it. Excellent twitching bar for jigging without much effort.
