Over time I have seen many a fisherman talk of why they should try tournament fishing at the club level, I have nothing against fishing in the big leagues and it is fine for some, but you will miss out on a lot when you pass up your chance to fish with a local club. In the club environment the pressure to perform and win are a lot less then in the bigger leagues. We are more interested in seeing everyone has great time fishing and learn for each other as they go. No matter if you are a new person to tournament fishing or a season pro you will find new friends and great times with in a bass club.

If you're new to tournament fishing and you do not know all the ends and out of tournament fishing you should think of looking into a local club. The members of most clubs will help out the new person and get them ready to take home your first victory. If you ask a question no matter how silly you may think it is they will be glad to stop and talk you through how you should go about it and even give a few pointers to make it a great experience. A bass club is a also a great environment to take young kids out for a day of fishing, as most club members will offer them help and even a few hints to show up the rest of the club.

If you're a season pro and just want to spend some valuable time on the water, a club might be the answer to your day of fishing. With a club you will have new friends to laugh with and enjoy talking about where you have been fishing and all those fish that made your day in the past. Your knowledge and experiences in bass fishing will be a benefit to the younger people that are just getting in to our sport. If you do not watch it you might even learn a few new tricks to use while out fishing from those fellow club members.

If you need another reason to join a bass club just asks Kevin VanDam, he started out in his bass fishing carrier as a member of a local bass club in Kalamazoo Michigan. He told me a while back at a local sports show at D&R sport center, that his one advice to some one thinking of fishing bass tournaments is to join a bass club! I know his brother Randy and Kevin where both active members of the Kal-Valley bass Club for many year when the sport was still new to tournament fishing.
